New Multipurpose Event Center ‘The Destination’ Set to Open in Warren County on Fourth of July

WARREN COUNTY, Miss.(VDN) — A new chapter in entertainment, community, and culture is coming to Warren County this Fourth of July with the grand opening of The Destination — a 11,500-square-foot multipurpose event center created through a partnership between Sports X and Battleground Tours.

Located in the historic former Moose Lodge building on Fisher Ferry Road, The Destination is the result of a collaboration between Johnny Rivers, a well-known sports enthusiast and collector, and Janice Flowers, the founder of Battleground Tours.

“He has his sports side and I have my tour company here, and we’re merging them to do great things in Warren County,” Flowers said. “Everything we’re offering is going to be unique, different and fun.”
The building has been transformed into an immersive space that blends sports history, interactive entertainment, and event rentals. It has plenty of space to rent out for events such as weddings, gatherings, class reunions, birthday parties, brunches, and family reunions.
Among its standout features is a stunning collection of sports memorabilia curated by Rivers over four years. Guests will find items like an original Rose Bowl MVP trophy, a custom Tiger Woods painting, March Madness caps, Dallas Cowboys apparel, and even the iconic Bobby Boucher jersey from The Waterboy film. Autographed NFL gear and exotic leather saddles crafted from alligator skin are also on display.

As the city of Vicksburg prepares to celebrate its 200th anniversary, The Destination will play a part in honoring local history. Battleground Tours has created commemorative logo T-shirts with historical narratives printed on the back, along with matching teddy bears — all available for purchase.

The venue will officially open on Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Western-themed celebration featuring live entertainment, local food vendors, shopping, and unique photo opportunities. A major highlight will be the unveiling of 400 pairs of handmade children’s boots by the Stallion Boot Company, known for its celebrity clientele and luxurious craftsmanship. Attendees can also browse a curated collection of adult-sized exotic-skin belts, bronze Western art, and themed merchandise.

In addition to hosting events, The Destination will offer interactive experiences for all ages, including games, character-themed attractions like the Barbie Box (ADA-compliant), Incredible Hulk, and Minions photo stations. The business is also working with Build-A-Bear to bring more family-friendly features to the space.
The center is already planning its second major event, Boots, Beats, and Groove, which will take place Saturday, July 5, at 7 p.m. The event promises an electrifying night of line dancing, two-stepping, and music — all live-streamed across seven media platforms. Organizers are encouraging attendees to come camera-ready, as the night will be broadcast coast to coast.
“This space is about bringing people together,” Rivers said. “It’s for weddings, reunions, birthday parties — whatever the community needs. And what’s even better is that proceeds from our raffles and giveaways will help fund scholarships for the Class of 2026.”

From timeless sports artifacts to cutting-edge entertainment, The Destination is set to become a hub of celebration and creativity in the heart of Warren County.
