North Washington Crash Victim Has Died

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The young man who was injured in a single-vehicle accident on North Washington Street has died. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Christopher Clay, of Vicksburg. The accident happened near the entrance to Waltersville on Monday night.

On Monday, Clay was traveling on North Washington when he left the roadway and hit at least two power poles, rolled over, and caught fire. He was trapped inside the vehicle until first responders were able to remove him.

The young man is a 2022 graduate of Vicksburg High School.
