Nurse Dru retires from VWSD

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Warren School District said goodbye to Nurse Dru Holdiness after she earned her retirement on Friday, Dec. 19.

Holdiness addressed the school board on Thursday, Dec. 18, to bid her goodbyes.

“This district is very important to me. I went to school in this district. I grew up, and all my family went to school here,” said Holdiness. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m still going to be around just in a different capacity…as a grandparent now.”

Holdiness was the second nurse hired by the district to serve as a school nurse. The district said she developed most of the health guidelines and procedures.

“I want the very best for this district, and I want this to be a place that I can proudly send my grandbaby to school in four years,” said Holdiness.
