Parkwood Apt. June shooting results in two arrests
The Vicksburg Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a shooting which occurred on June 10, 2026, at the Parkwood South Apartments in the 500 block of Bazinsky Road.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a shooting which occurred on June 10, 2026, at the Parkwood South Apartments in the 500 block of Bazinsky Road.
Following an investigation, VPD officials arrested Demond Cage, 51, on June 22. Cage was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon-firearm.

Then, on July 30, investigators arrested Jamoni Odoms, 22, of Vicksburg, in connection with the incident.

Odoms was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon-firearm and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
VDN initially reported on the incident with a press release from the department. According to the release police officers responded in reference to a shooting incident at the apartment complex around 1:30 a.m.
After arriving on scene, officers learned an exchange of gunfire involving multiple individuals had occurred. Reports indicate an adult female sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. It is believed her injury is non-life-threatening.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests or charges may be forthcoming as investigators continue to gather evidence.
