Vicksburg native Paul Wilson Jr. will take over as Head Ninth Grade Football Coach at Vicksburg High School. Wilson also serves as the varsity defensive coordinator, a position he earned in January 2024.

As a defensive backs coach in 2023, Wilson helped lead the Gators to a 7-4 season where they produced one shutout and held a total of three teams to score less than 10 points. Under Wilson’s defensive leadership in 2023, his secondary finished with 21 pass deflections, 13 interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns.

Wilson is a 2016 graduate of VHS where he starred at defensive back. He went on to play college football at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, the University of Northern Colorado, and the University of West Alabama.
