Porter’s Chapel Academy softball team put Hillcrest Christian away with a 15-1 run-rule win on Thursday.

Early hits from Mia Abdo(double), Marley Bufkin, Lauren Rae Davis, and Natalie Cantin along with an RBI from Coley Potter gave the Lady Eagles a 8-1 first-inning lead. Potter smashed a 3-run inside-the-park home run in the second and PCA picked up three more walks to put things at 15-1 heading into the third.

Three quick outs in the third ended the game as Kinsley Luke struck out a total of four batters in the win. Bufkin(1 RBI) and Abdo both went 2 for 2 at the plate while Davis(2 RBIs) and Potter(4 RBIs) each had one hit. Carraway and Luke both hit RBIs while Abdo(3), Kendall Smith(2), Cantin(2), Carraway(2), Bufkin(2), Davis(1), Masterson(1), and Potter(1) all had runs.

Potter’s hit was her first varsity home run.

“I felt excited but I didn’t think I was going to make it home but I was so happy when I did,” Potter said.

PCA will travel to play Wilkinson County Christian Academy on Saturday.
