Pedestrian Struck by SUV on Pemberton Blvd.; Police Investigating

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A pedestrian sustained minor injuries Thursday evening after being struck by an SUV while walking along Pemberton Boulevard.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, just before 11 p.m. Thursday, May 22, police and first responders arrived at the area of Pemberton Blvd, near Oasis Pools in response to an individual who was walking southbound in the right lane near the fog line (the white stripe marking the edge of the roadway) when a black or dark-colored SUV clipped them with its side mirror. The vehicle continued driving south on Pemberton without stopping.

The pedestrian sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage in the area to gather more information about the incident and to identify the vehicle involved who struck the pedestrian and are investigating this incident as a hit and run.
