VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A pot left on the stove caused smoke to fill a Valley View Lane home late Tuesday morning, prompting a response from the Vicksburg Fire Department. No damage or injuries were reported.

At approximately 11:06 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to 257 Valley View Lane after receiving a report of a possible fire. Upon arrival, crews discovered a pot on the stove that had burned after the liquid inside dried out, creating smoke throughout the residence.

“The homeowner had removed the pot before the fire crew entered the home,” said Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps. “Fortunately, there was no damage to the structure, and no injuries were reported.”
