The shooting of a young woman on Grove at Walnut this afternoon around 1:15 p.m. is being called an act of domestic violence.

Adam-4, Troy Kimble, spoke with the Vicksburg Daily News and stated, “This is going to be an incident, which again, unfortunately, any act of violence like this, but it’s going to be another act of domestic violence. There was an ongoing argument between the victim and her boyfriend. A weapon was produced and she was shot in the abdomen. She has been taken to the hospital and he is still at large.”

The shooting rocked the city that has seen shootings all week long including one at Superior Crab. In that shooting, a person was shot in the arm after an altercation. The shooting had nothing to do with Superior Crab by all reports and took place in the parking lot. The timing of these shootings seemed to conflict with Mayor George Flaggs who stated in an interview with the Vicksburg Daily News on Wednesday that crime was down.

“It is a domestic violence situation, we know who it is and we are actively seeking him for arrest,” said Kimble.
