“I’ve been waiting on this opportunity for a long time, and I’m grateful that Coach Megan chose me,” Carraway said.

Carraway has been cheering for the Eagles since seventh grade and was part of the team that won first place in both the camp routine and cheer performance in 2024. As co-captain, she helps teach dances.

One of her favorite memories came when she was tackled by football players and accidentally broke her wrist. She is the daughter of Rick and Kelley Carraway.

Kendall Smith

Smith said she’s excited to share the captain title with her longtime teammates.

“It’s amazing to be captain with two people I’ve been cheering with since seventh grade,” Smith said.

Smith coordinates dances for the team and also plays basketball and softball. She is the daughter of Jason and DanaKay Smith.

Lexi Whittington

Whittington, now head captain, said she’s been working toward the role since she began cheering in seventh grade.

“It’s so exciting, and I’ve been looking forward to it since I started cheering,” Whittington said.

She said nothing compares to Friday nights under the lights. One of her favorite memories is shopping with the team before an away game last season. As head captain, she arrives early for practice, assists her coach, and teaches dances and cheers.

Whittington also plays basketball and plans to become a math teacher at a Christian school after graduation. She is the daughter of Ron Kinard, Dawn Kinard, and Derrick Whittington.
