VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Zucchini 500 will be happening this Saturday morning in downtown Vicksburg.

The weekly Farmer’s Market will be happening once again this Saturday morning in Vicksburg. In addition to the numerous local vendors selling fresh vegetables, fruits, and other homegrown items, there will be a race.

The Zucchini 500 is a unique feature for the children. Here’s how it works: you bring the kids along to the farmer’s market. While they are there, the child will have the opportunity to pick out a zucchini, carve it into a race car under supervision at the build station, and then roll it down the hill at 10:30. “It’s silly, it’s fun, and it’s totally free!” Go ahead, make a memory for free.

The Vicksburg Farmers’ Market will be held at Washington Street Park, located at 1000 Washington Street. It opens at 8 a.m. and runs through 11 a.m., or sooner if the vendors sell out. Make sure to set your alarm early and bring 1-2 reusable bags, cash, and, of course, friends!

Head over to Washington Street Park at 1000 Washington Street.
