Three WC track & field athletes had 1st place finishes

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Three Warren Central High School boy’s track & field athletes finished in first place at their meet last week. Ricky Neal Jr., Dwight Palmer, and Chester Savage all dominated at the regional meet where the Vikings had an overall third place finish.
“These student-athletes exemplify the discipline, resilience, and excellence of Warren Central athletics,” WC Head Coach Corey Wilson Sr. said. “Their dedication has earned them recognition not only among their peers but also across the region. We wish them and their teammates the best of luck as they advance to the next level of competition.”
Palmer had three 1st place finishes as he came out on top in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and the 400m dash. Neal earned a gold medal in the long jump and Savage outdid everyone in the 300m hurdles.

Chester Savage (41.35) – 12th Grade - 400m Dash
Dwight Palmer (49.00) – 11th Grade. Broke the longstanding school record (49.70) set in 1992 by Tyrone Harper. - Long Jump
Rickey Neal Jr. (21’3.25”) – 12th Grade
All three athletes will be competing at North State on Saturday at Center Hill in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
