Trustmark fire quickly contained, no injuries reported

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A fire in a storage area in the Trustmark Bank building was quickly extinguished with minimal damage and no injuries, according to Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps.

“At approximately 3:21 a.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department confidently responded to a reported structure fire at 1301 Washington Street,” Stamps said. “Upon arrival, crews swiftly identified flames and smoke, allowing them to execute an effective interior attack to extinguish the fire rapidly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the damage to the structure was minimal.”

The Trustmark building, located at 1301 Washington Street, is home to Trustmark Bank, the Loft Apartments, and 10 South.
