VHS announces roster for upcoming powerlifting season

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School has announced its boys powerlifting team for the 2025–26 season, highlighting a full roster of athletes and staff set to represent the Gators in the upcoming campaign.

The team will be led by head coach Decorey Knight, who returns to guide the program as it prepares for another competitive season. VHS will rely on a mix of experience and new talent as the Gators continue to build momentum in one of the school’s fastest-growing sports.

The 2025–26 roster includes Casey Brown, Derrick Davis, LeAndrew Drake, Jayden Lee, Antonio Mayfield, Tejay McKinney, Brandon Nailor, Elijah Rainey, Karter Thomas, Corey Wilkerson, Jayden Woods and Jamarion Young. Each lifter will compete in weight-class divisions, with the goal of advancing to postseason meets and continuing the program’s tradition of strong finishes.

Supporting the athletes will be a group of spotters consisting of Shawn Archer, Christian Stamps, Jaylen Henderson and Troy Rodgers. Their role will be vital in training sessions and competitions, ensuring safety and consistency throughout the season.
