VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg Main Street Christmas Parade of Lights has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 7, due to expected rain this Sunday.

The parade was originally planned to take place this Sunday, December 8, but now is rescheduled to Saturday, December 7 at 5:00 pm due to concerns over upcoming weather conditions. The parade was originally scheduled for Sunday to allow for the barricades to be in place for safety without disrupting downtown businesses during the holiday season.

“We understand that rescheduling a large scale event like the Christmas Parade of Lights can inconvenience community members, but our priority is making sure everyone remains safe while having an enjoyable time,” says Vicksburg Main Street Executive Director Kim Hopkins. “We encourage the community to support our downtown businesses and events leading up to the parade this Saturday “

All other previously released information regarding the parade is transferable to the new date
The route, time, participants, and road closures will not change.

This year’s theme is “The Nutcracker” and Joyce Clingan is this year’s Grand Marshal.
