Vicksburg High Cheerleaders Earn Multiple Honors at UCA Camp

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High School Varsity Football Cheerleaders returned home Thursday after a successful week at the UCA Cheerleading Camp held at the University of Southern Mississippi.

The team earned second place in the Camp Routine category, which included band chant, sideline, and cheer performances. They also placed second in the Dance/Spirit division and secured second place overall among all participating squads.

Four Vicksburg cheerleaders received individual recognition by being named UCA All-American Cheerleaders. Senior Janiyah Mazie and juniors Raylyn Parson, Xaria Williams, and Amiyah Hall were selected for the honor based on their excellence in skills such as jumps, motions, tumbling, and overall spirit.

The Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp is designed to help teams sharpen their skills, improve teamwork, and prepare for the upcoming school year. Vicksburg High’s performance highlighted their strong work ethic, school spirit, and technical ability.

The team is led by head coach Aeriel Patten, who has guided the program with a focus on discipline, spirit, and continuous improvement. With a strong showing at the UCA Camp, the Vicksburg High cheerleaders are poised for a high-energy football season and continued success throughout the school year.
