VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The Vicksburg High School Varsity Basketball Cheerleaders spent the week of June 29 to July 3 sharpening their skills and building team spirit during a cheer camp led by Hype Athletics Tumble and Cheer.

The camp, hosted by Kolby Wesley, owner of Hype Athletics, along with Coach KaiDai Allen, focused on a range of cheerleading elements, including sideline cheers, band chants, dance routines, and pep rally performances. The week began with a special church service at Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Coach Shalanda Harris, who helped the team set a strong and purposeful tone.

The cheerleaders wrapped up the week with a spirited showcase at Hype Athletics, where they demonstrated their progress and energy to parents and supporters.

As the team looks ahead to the 2025 basketball season, they’re also gearing up to represent Vicksburg High in a series of community events. Fans can catch an early look at the squad’s routines on July 18 during the Walmart Vicksburg grand opening. Later that day, the cheerleaders will also perform at the City-Wide Pep Rally at the Pemberton Mall.

With hard work, enthusiasm, and leadership from dedicated coaches, the Missy Gators cheer squad is ready to bring energy and pride to every game and community stage this season.
