Vicksburg man charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault

VICKSBURG, Miss. – A Vicksburg man has been charged with Aggravated Assault Domestic Violence after an early morning incident on Saturday morning.
According to a press release by the Vicksburg Police Department, shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, Merit Health River Region reported a male subject at the Emergency Room with a stab wound to his upper body. A few minutes later, Vicksburg Police officers were dispatched to the area of the Churchill Drive and Indiana Avenue intersection for a female assault victim laying in the street. The officers determined both subjects are involved in the same case, which at this time is considered to be a domestic violence incident.
The Vicksburg man, identified as 28-years-old Daron Evans, was taken into custody upon his release from the emergency room, and has been charged with Aggravated Assault Domestic Violence. He is being held without bond until his initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
The female subject was transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment. Her condition at this time is stable.
