Vicksburg native Levi Wyatt killed in car crash

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Vicksburg native and former standout football player Levi Wyatt Jr. was killed in a car crash. He was 23. His death was announced by family members on social media.
Early reports indicate Wyatt was the victim of a fatal crash just months after graduating from Jackson State University.
Wyatt first made a name for himself on the football field at Vicksburg High School before finishing his high school career at Holmes County Central. He later earned a football scholarship to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
His collegiate career continued at McNeese State University, where he received 2024 All-Southland Conference second-team honors and was named to the 2024 Phil Steele All-Southland Conference Team. Wyatt concluded his college career at Jackson State, helping the Tigers finish the 2025 season with a 9-3 record.
Earlier this year, Wyatt declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
He is survived by his family, who reside in Vicksburg.
