MEMPHIS, Tenn. (VDN) — Martin “Trey” Brown, a Vicksburg native, captured the World National Middleweight Boxing Championship after defeating Manny Woods on Oct. 17 in Memphis, Tennessee. The bout ended in the fourth round when Brown earned a technical knockout after a dominant performance from start to finish.

It took Brown less than 20 seconds in the opening round to send Woods out of the ring. Brown continued to apply pressure in the second round, landing a flurry of punches that again knocked Woods through the ropes.

In the third round, Brown landed a vicious left hook that sent Woods stumbling backward into the ropes. The punishment continued in the fourth, as Woods was dropped twice before telling the referee he could no longer continue, resulting in a TKO victory for Brown.

After the fight, both boxers showed mutual respect as Brown was awarded his championship belt.

Brown, who now boasts an 8-0 professional boxing record, is also a two-time mixed martial arts champion and a world title contender in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). He currently resides in Florida, where he is preparing for his next major fight.

No opponent has yet come close to defeating Brown, who plans to remain undefeated and will announce his next bout in the coming weeks.
