Vicksburg’s Joshua Griffin to Enter the NFL Draft
VICKSBURG, Miss. – Vicksburg native Joshua Griffin announced that he will be entering the 2025 NFL Draft. Griffin, who plays football at Southern University, made the announcement on Tuesday night.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for his countless blessings over these past four years,” Griffin said. “Thank you for your guidance, grace, and for keeping your arms around me through it all. Without you, none of this would be possible.”
“To my family, friends, and coaches: thank you for your unwavering support, encouragement, and motivation. Thank you for believing in me and in the dream we all knew was possible. This journey has been filled with challenges, lessons, and countless blessings, all of which have led me to this moment.”
“With that being said, I am officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. I am ready to take the next step in my journey and embrace the challenges that lie ahead. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. The story is far from over! Go Jags.”
Griffin is the kicker and punter for the Jaguars where he went 18 of 25 in field goals in 2024. He also averaged 34 yard a punt as Southern advanced to the SWAC Championship.
Before starring at Southern University, Griffin played football at Warren Central High School under Head Coach Josh Morgan. He signed with Southern University out of high school where he has been starting on special teams for the last four years.
The NFL Draft will begin on April 24, 2025.
