Vicksburg’s Omar Nelson named Vice President of the USM Foundation Board of Directors

Vicksburg native Omar Nelson has been named Vice President of the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation Board of Foundation.

Nelson is a 1994 graduate of USM and went on to earn degrees from Mississippi State University and Mississippi College School of Law. He is currently an attorney at Gibbs Travis PLLC where he is in the field of personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, premises liability, automobile, and 18-wheeler accidents. Omar is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Mississippi and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Nelson is married to Melanie Nelson and they have two children: Morgan Nelson and Ryan Nelson.
