VPD’s Clay Griffin caught red handed

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Police Officer Clay Griffin was recently caught red-handed doing his job.
In a post on social media, a Jackson, Mississippi, visitor to an area casino lost their phone. They called 911 and Griffin responded to the call. Suzanne Boyster said:
“I want to share a story that happened to me the past two days. I went to Waterview casino in Vicksburg after work Wednesday night. I was playing a slot machine and left my phone on the machine and moved to play a different one. When I realized I didn’t have it, I went to security, who didn’t have it. I then borrowed a phone and called Jacki to track it for me. They headed to Walmart to try selling it one of those KioskATM. I flew over there but they were gone. The following morning, I used Jacki’s phone, still tracking it, location was at a residence.
I called Vicksburg Police Department and I got lucky. The nicest person, Officer Clay Griffin answered the call, I explained what happened, in greater detail to him, I even called him back because the phone had moved locations back to Walmart at noon and he took the time to go by there since he was close but, they were gone. My phone location stayed in the same place at Walmart so I knew they sold it at the Kiosk.
To make a long story short, he went by after his shift and contacted the company because they do make provisions for law enforcement agencies. A tech came and opened the door and he texted my sisters phone and told me to call my number, and he answered it. I was elated to say the least.
In a world of hate and turmoil that we are living in now, he has restored my faith in humanity. I realize that my “phone” being returned should be such a big thing, but it was…. Officer Griffin had to be in Jackson this morning and he took the time to meet me to give me my phone.
The time, care and tenacity with my case just shows the dedication he has for his job which he has done for the past 37 years .
Thank you Officer Clay Griffin for proving to me that a little niceness goes a long way these days. You made my day.“
