VWSD Student Found with Gun at School Bus Stop
VICKSBURG, MS – A school-aged child was found with a pellet gun at a South Park Elementary school bus stop this morning in Warren County. The child never boarded the school bus.
Vicksburg Police Department responded to a report of a child with a gun at the bus stop at around 7 a.m. this morning. Reportedly, the child was cocking and un-cocking the gun at the bus stop, alarming other students. Once authorities arrived on scene, it was discovered that the weapon was a pellet gun.
The student has been suspended.
The Vicksburg Daily News has contacted the Vicksburg Warren School District for more information. We have also contacted Vicksburg Police Chief, Penny Jones, for additional details.

This week has been ripe with stories of students and guns, including an incident in Vicksburg last week. The response to that local incident by the school district left many members of the community unhappy
