WC Freshmen Football Team Crushed Terry 40-12

VICKSBURG, MS.Warren Central High School freshmen football team bounced back from last week’s loss and took down Terry 40-12 on Tuesday night. The win put the Vikings at 3-1 on the season as they showed much improvement last night.

By the end of the first quarter, WC had a 13-0 lead after Javid Scott scored a 25-yard touchdown and Xavier Jackson ran in a 5-yard score. Nick Lee kicked the successful extra point. Scott broke out for a big 27 yards as well.

The Vikings had some big plays in the second quarter, including a 25-yard pass from Trystan Fuller to Jaylen DeFrance, a 23-yard run from Scott, and a 16-yard run from Jomar Hunt. WC got on the board when Hunt scored a 33-yard rushing touchdown. Terry blocked one of WC’s punts which put them on the 2-yard line where they eventually scored and the score sat at 21-6.

With 39 seconds left in the first half, Jackson threw a 50-yard touchdown to Defrance which gave WC a 27-6 lead. 

In the third quarter, Fuller hit Brooks Broome for a 30-yard touchdown. The Bulldogs also scored a late touchdown. The Vikings wrapped things up in the fourth quarter when Hunt scored on a 15-yard run and Lee kicked the extra point.

WC will travel to Madison Central on Tuesday.

Vicksburg High freshmen team took a 28-10 loss to Germantown. Corbin Walker caught a 30-yard touchdown from TJ Selvy. Jayden Stewart ran in the 2-point conversion. Jaquez Jones caught an interception and the punt return team forced a high snap that resulted in a safety.

The Gators will host Ridgeland on Tuesday.
