Warren Central sweeps Vicksburg in boys’ basketball matchups

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central’s seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-grade boys’ basketball teams swept Vicksburg on Monday night.

Freshmen:

The Warren Central freshmen defeated Vicksburg 62–45. Jordan Taylor led the Vikings with 19 points. Ja’Ven Lee and Henry Trisby each scored 10 points, while Cameron Zellous added eight. Jarrad Williams finished with five points, Doss Morgan and Braylen Selvy each scored four, and Jordan Younger added two.

For Vicksburg, Antwuan Chiplin led with 15 points, followed by Caleb Logan with eight. Noah Bass, Gerrick Durrell, and Chareck Cable each scored six points, while Smothers and Washington added two apiece.

Eighth Grade:

The eighth-grade Vikings earned a 36–23 win. Darius O’Neal led Warren Central with 11 points, and Michael Banks Jr. added nine. Cameron Anderson, Jayden Green, and Richard Albert each scored four points, while Troy Thomas chipped in two.

For Vicksburg, Peyton Walker led with seven points. Brandon Smith Jr. and Kaleb Sims both scored five points, Messiah Robinson added four, and Ashton James finished with two.

Seventh Grade:

The seventh-grade Vikings capped off the sweep with an 18–6 victory. Damion Carroll led Warren Central with seven points, while Decatur Morgan and Cordarrius Miles each added four. Mason Truly contributed three points.
