Warren Central’s Trace Hood commits to Southwest Mississippi
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School baseball standout Trace Hood has announced his commitment to play at the college level.
Hood made the announcement Thursday in a social media post, officially committing to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
“I would like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity,” Hood wrote. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting me along the way. I am grateful to announce I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Southwest Mississippi Community College.”
Hood is coming off a strong season where he helped lead the Vikings to their third consecutive district championship under head coach Randy Broome. The team also reached the North State Championship for the second straight year.
Hood finished the season with a .337 batting average, 29 hits, 20 RBIs, and two home runs.
