WC crushed Callaway 22-0 on Friday

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Warren Central High School’s softball team shut out Callaway 22-0 in a district matchup Friday night, improving to 9-5 on the season under head coach Brian Ellis.

The Lady Vikes powered the win with 16 total hits, including inside-the-park home runs from KeKe McKay, Mary Clell Allred and Maddy Pant.

Freshman KK Williamson dominated in the circle, tossing her first varsity no-hitter. She struck out nine batters while allowing no hits and no runs. Williamson also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-2 with one RBI.

MK Ferguson dominated for Warren Central offensively, going 3-for-4 with two triples and one RBI. Pant recorded three hits, including a triple and an inside-the-park home run, and finished with four RBIs. Allred added a double and an inside-the-park home run while driving in six runs.

Laney Bennett hit two doubles and finished with three RBIs. Addi Mullen recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. McKay added an inside-the-park home run and two RBIs, while Emily Muirhead contributed one hit and one RBI.

Warren Central will travel to face Ridgeland on Tuesday.
