Warren Central High School’s ninth-grade football team improved to 2-0 after defeating Sumner Hill 31-15 on Tuesday.

The Vikings took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter after Trystan Fuller hit Jaylen Defrance on a 15-yard touchdown. Midway through the second quarter, Javid Scott took off on an 80-yard touchdown run. The Arrows eventually got on the board just a few minutes before halftime to put the score at 12-7.

Shortly before halftime, Fuller hit Defrance on a long pass just before Xavier Jackson broke out on a run to put the ball at the 2-yard line. Jomar Hunt ran it in on the next play and Nick Lee kicked the successful extra point.

In the second half, Jackson scored two more rushing touchdowns that went for over 20 yards. Kamryn Bailey grabbed a couple of sacks and Chris Smith had multiple tackles.

WC will travel to face Germantown on Tuesday.
