VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central Junior High School earned its first win of the season Tuesday with a 38-16 victory over Madison Middle School. The Vikings, now 1-1 under head coach Louis Green, used explosive plays on both sides of the ball to secure the win.

WCJHS jumped ahead early as Andrew Patten scored on a short run for the first touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion from quarterback Jaiden Green. Richard Albert added to the lead with a 23-yard touchdown run, and Mike Davis broke free for a 75-yard score to give the Vikings a 20-0 advantage at halftime.

Albert continued his strong performance in the second half, running over a defender on a 35-yard touchdown carry to stretch the lead to 26-0. On the ensuing kickoff, Cameron Anderson delivered a big hit, and Patten followed with a key defensive stop. Madison answered with a 40-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 26-8.

With nine seconds left in the third quarter, Albert struck again, returning a kickoff 65 yards for another touchdown. The Jaguars responded with a 29-yard scoring run to make it 32-16.

The Vikings sealed the win in the fourth quarter as Jayden Jones made a big tackle on a punt, Anderson recovered a fumble, and Michael Banks Jr. helped move the offense downfield behind lead blockers Camden Towns, Bradley McDougal, Jones, Mike Odom and Josiah Rogers. Demetrius Clark capped the drive with a short touchdown run for the final 38-16 margin.
