WC’s Ashtin Wallace Signs to Delta State University

Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central High School swimmer Ashtin Wallace has officially signed a swimming scholarship to Delta State University. A signing ceremony was held for Wallace on Friday where he made his next move official.

“I’m very excited and I can’t wait to be part of the Delta State Swim Team,” Wallace said. I’m thankful for everyone who’s here today because I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Wallace spent the last few years swimming under Head Coach Terry Wong who was also excited to have one of his athletes sign yesterday.
“Ashtin is very dedicated, and he wants it so it’s awesome to see this because he’s had several universities look at him and I’m excited that we get to see him swim because we compete up there,” Wong said.
Wallace chose Delta State over William Carey University, Millsaps College, and Southern Baptist University.

“Everything about Delta State was great and they have a great coaching staff but it’s also close to home which made it better,” Wallace added.
Wallace recently won the Afton Wallace Award which represents the best swimmer in the county. He was instrumental in WC’s North State Championship season in 2024 after finishing in first place in the 200 IM.

Ashtin also swam with the Vicksburg Swim Association along with the Sunkist. After graduation in May, Wallace will head to Cleveland, Mississippi to begin his journey as a college athlete.
Ashtin is the son of Josh and Kim Wallace.
