Weather holds for second annual Laces for Love

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The forecast for rain and storms held off for the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg’s second annual Laces for Love race this morning. The event was host to a 10k, 5k, 5k walk, and a fun run with all proceeds from the event benefiting the children of Warren County.
“This is our second year for Laces for Love. We had this idea a couple of years ago, and it took a little bit to get the ball rolling, but we’re growing and it’s improving each year,” said Juliana Smith, an organizer for the event. “We’ve had an even better turn out his year than last year, luckily even with what we thought the weather would be, the weather ended up being absolutely beautiful. We’re just so appreciative.”
Smith is already looking forward to not only next year, but for this event to continue to grow year after year.
“I told others earlier, I just think about this ten years down the road, just having a couple hundred people to join the event,” said Smith. “I think it will be a great thing for the Junior Auxiliary to raise money for the children of Vicksburg.”
