VICKSBURG, Miss. – Warren Central High School’s Big Blue brought home two best in class, second place in their division, and sixth place overall in yesterday’s 2024 Bandmasters Championship at the University of Memphis. The competition, in its twenty-second year, brings schools from across the south including Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.

2024 Bandmasters Championship Big Blue’s Awards Tally:

  • Best in class AAA general effect
  • Best in class AAA color guard
  • 2nd place band in class AAA
  • 6th place band overall

The 2024 marching band season for Warren Central’s Big Blue has seen a series of successful competition wins over the past several months with the most recent being Overall 1st Place Grand Champions at the 1st Annual Southeast Regional Marching Competition held at East MS Community College.

The Bandmasters Championship was established to offer Memphis and the Mid-South region a premier scholastic marching band competition. Organized by the University of Memphis Band Alumni Chapter, a group of former band members devoted to supporting the University’s band through volunteer efforts and financial contributions, the event aims to deliver a top-tier experience.
