VICKSBURG, Miss. – Vicksburg’s annual Veterans Day Parade will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will follow the normal parade route, north along Washington Street to Jackson Street.

Originally known as Armistice Day, the holiday marked the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. In 1954, it was renamed Veterans Day to recognize all U.S. veterans.

Following the parade, a special Memorial Day service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Vicksburg Rose Garden, at the intersection of Monroe Street and Crawford Street.

Vicksburg’s Veteran Day events are sponsored by the American Legion: Tyner-Ford Post 213, Sons of the American Legion Post 213, American Legion: Allein Post 3, and the City of Vicksburg.
