St. Al Junior High picked up their third district win

Vicksburg, Miss.-St. Aloysius Junior High girls’ basketball team picked up their third district win of the season after they defeated Copiah Academy 37-35 on Tuesday. The Lady Flashes are now 3-2 in district play.

The game was tied at 7-7 by the end of the first quarter after a 3-pointer by Presley Carr and a shot by Kelci Bingham. Carr nailed another 3-pointer in the second quarter but the Lady Flashes allowed Copiah to take the 18-15 halftime lead.

The Lady Flashes didn’t regain the lead until the fourth quarter and eventually pulled off the hard-fought win. 

Carr led with 19 points while Bingham and Kennadi Blassingame both added six points each. Olivia Copes ended the night with three points and Elle Larson hit a free throw.

St. Al will travel to play Cathedral on Thursday.
