ST. JOSEPH, La. (VDN) — Tallulah native Hollis Meadows has been named athletic director and head boys’ basketball coach at Tensas High School.

Meadows announced his new role on social media, expressing excitement about the opportunity and his vision for the program.

“Closing one book and opening a new one,” the post read. “Patience and being humble! I’m honored to step into the role of physical education and head basketball coach at Tensas High School. It’s a privilege to lead this program and work with these student-athletes to build not only strong teams, but strong character. I’m excited for the journey ahead and look forward to developing a culture of hard work, discipline, and unity both on and off the court. Let’s get to work. Grateful for the opportunity to lead as head coach. Let’s build something great. Ready to lead with purpose, passion, and integrity. It’s bigger than basketball — it’s about leadership, growth and legacy.”

Before joining Tensas, Meadows coached basketball at Wright Elementary School and taught at Madison Middle School.

The Panthers are coming off a 5-17 season, but with Meadows’ arrival, the program hopes to turn the page. He will oversee all athletic operations while guiding the boys’ basketball team into what he hopes will be a new era of success.
