VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Megan Theriot delivered a performance to remember for St. Aloysius on Monday. The junior went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate, driving in two runs and sparking the Lady Flashes to a 17-7 victory over Riverfield Academy.

Riverfield struck first, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Theriot helped swing the momentum when she stole home in the bottom half to put St. Al on the board. Kennadi Blassingame later scored on a passed ball to trim the deficit to 3-2.

The Lady Flashes surged ahead in the third inning behind a two-run triple from Ruthie Britton and a double by Madelyn Kavanaugh, taking a 6-4 lead. Riverfield briefly regained control in the fourth, going up 7-6, before Lynlee McMillin’s RBI single tied it again.

From there, Theriot and her teammates took over. Presley Brister doubled and later scored on a wild pitch, Theriot smashed a triple, and Kavanaugh added an RBI single to cap a six-run fifth inning that put St. Al in command at 12-7.

The Lady Flashes piled on five more runs in the sixth, with contributions from Blassingame, Mageigh Haller, and Theriot, who notched yet another RBI single.

St. Al finished with 14 hits. Theriot (5-for-5, 1 triple, 2 RBIs) led the way, while Brister (1 triple), Mallory Spencer (2 hits, 1 RBI), Britton (2 hits, 2 RBIs), and Kavanaugh (2 hits, 2 RBIs) all had strong performances. Haller (1 hit, 1 RBI), McMillin (1 RBI), and Blassingame (1 RBI) also contributed.
