Bowmar Elementary Students Deliver Sweet Treats to First Responders

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Bowmar Elementary School students showed their appreciation for local first responders last week through a special “Bake & Take” event. The young students personally delivered homemade and store-bought goodies to the Vicksburg Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the local emergency room and the E911 Call Center.

To support the effort, the school collected items such as cookies, cakes, protein bars, snack mixes, Gatorade, Powerade and a variety of other treats to help feed the men and women who serve the community.

The gesture also served as a thank-you to first responders for the hard work and long hours they dedicate to protecting and caring for the community each day. Some first responders work 24-hour shifts and miss precious times from their own families to keep our community safe and healthy.
