(VDN) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering up to a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the death of Claiborne County Sheriff Deputy Terrian Bailey.
Investigation into Claiborne County Deputy’s Death
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office near Hermanville, Miss.
Deputies were attempting to disperse a crowd in the parking lot of Michael Dean’s Convenience Store around midnight when gunshots were directed toward the crowd.
A female bystander was shot and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputy Bailey was also shot and transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
FBI’s Reward for Information
MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the local District Attorney’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office. This information is preliminary and subject to change.
