Suspect in Hind’s County Deputy’s murder arrested in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — At around 3 p.m. today, units with the Jackson Police Department, the U.S. Marshal’s Office, and the Vicksburg Police Department conducted an arrest at the Deluxe Inn on the North Frontage Road in Vicksburg.
According to officers on scene, police took the suspect, Ladarien Tyrese Jones, 26, into custody for auto theft and the suspected murder of Hinds County Deputy Sgt. James Dotson, Jr. Sgt. Dotson was an 8-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office.
Hotel owner Henry Patel reported to the Daily News that Jones was not listed on the room. Jackson Police confirmed the suspect was dropped off at the hotel by a woman, who is currently in custody with the Jackson Police Department.
