A Warren County man has been indicted on a charge of statutory rape.

A Warren County grand jury recently handed down an indictment against Shane Anthony Standish, who is accused of having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 15.

Standish was arrested by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in May 2025 following an investigation into the allegations.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, WCSO investigators, led by Investigator Dusty Keyes, were investigating a case involving an adult who had sex with a child under the age of 16. The investigation identified Standish, 25, of Warren County, as the suspect.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was distributed to law enforcement agencies.

Just before 8:30 a.m. on May 24, Deputies Drew Clemts and Milton Goza spotted the vehicle Standish was driving on U.S. Highway 61 North, just south of the Warren-Issaquena County line. He was taken into custody without incident.

Standish was charged with statutory rape of a child under the age of 16 and appeared before Judge Randy Lewis on May 27. Lewis set Standish’s bond at $100,000 and ordered that he wear an ankle monitor if released on bond.

The indictment moves the case forward in Warren County Circuit Court.
