Jackson and Johnson led VHS soccer to sweep Riverside on Tuesday
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School’s soccer teams earned a pair of dominant road wins over Riverside High School on Tuesday night. The Missy Gators rolled to an 8-0 shutout, while the boys’ team powered to a 10-1 victory.
Girls
Amari Johnson delivered a standout performance, scoring six goals to lead the Missy Gators’ attack. Erin Smith added one goal and two assists, while Alanna Trevillion netted one goal. Dallas West and Dakota each recorded an assist.
Goalkeeper Harmony Harris secured the clean sheet with four saves.
Boys
The Gators controlled the match from start to finish in a 10-1 win. Cannon Jackson led the team with three goals, followed by John Nevels and Daison Brown with two goals apiece. Allan Allen, Charles Bond and Antonio Mayfield each added one goal.
Vicksburg also excelled in distribution. Abel Gonzalez tallied five assists, while Brown added two. Allen and Mayfield each finished with one assist.
