Brooks Willoughby, a former Warren Central High School standout, has announced his commitment to Louisiana Tech University.

The left-handed pitcher made the announcement Monday in a post on social media.

“After a lot of thought and prayer, I’ve decided to continue my academic and athletic career at Louisiana Tech University,” Willoughby wrote. “Thank you to everybody who has helped me on this journey, especially the Lord who gave me peace throughout the process. Go Bulldogs!”

Willoughby spent the past two seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi. As a freshman in 2025, he posted a 3-0 record with a 5.03 earned run average.

During his time at Warren Central, Willoughby played under head coach Randy Broome and helped lead the Vikings to their first appearance in the state championship series in more than 20 years. In his senior season in 2024, he recorded 76 strikeouts.
