St. Aloysius girls roll past Humphreys Academy; Boys defeat Benton Academy
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius High School picked up two strong performances over the weekend, with the girls earning a dominant win Monday night and the boys turning in an all-around effort on Saturday.
The Lady Flashes opened the week with a 44–18 victory over Humphreys Academy on Monday. St. Aloysius controlled the game from the start, powered by double-digit scoring from Annslee Averett and Megan Theriot, who each finished with 10 points.
Taryn Lusby followed with 9 points, while Pressley Carr and Farrell Roberson added 4 points each. Olivia Larsen scored 3 points, and Kennadi Blassingame and Kelci Bingham each contributed 2 points to round out the scoring.
On Saturday, the St. Aloysius boys earned a 68–51 win over Benton Academy, fueled by a standout night from Carson Gleese, who nearly posted 15 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists.
Garrod Bunch scored 14 points, while Carson Henderson added 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Walt Andrews finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and Sadler Lambiotte recorded 7 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals.
Grant Gattle scored 7 points, Carter Henderson added 4 points, Alan Stauts scored 1 point, and Tre Lee chipped in 1 point and 3 steals as the Flashes completed the well-balanced win.
