St. Aloysius defeated PCA 8-0 on Wednesday
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — St. Aloysius’ boys soccer team rolled to an 8-0 victory over Porter’s Chapel Academy on Wednesday night at Key City Park.
The Flashes took control early, building a 3-0 halftime lead while playing in cold conditions that kept both teams in constant motion. Senior Clay Pierce opened the scoring with his first goal of the season, followed shortly by a goal from Davis Burroughs. Burroughs added his second goal of the match by converting a penalty kick to give St. Aloysius a comfortable advantage at the break.
St. Aloysius continued to pull away in the second half, scoring five more goals to put the match out of reach. Mason Bourne, Henry Bell, Carter Smithhart, Cole Butler and Holden Davidson each found the back of the net. Bourne and Bell also recorded assists as the Flashes spread the scoring across the lineup.
Porter’s Chapel goalkeeper John Austin White made several saves in his start, helping limit further damage despite sustained pressure from the St. Aloysius attack.
With the win, the Flashes improved to 3-0 in district play.
