VDN’s David Day nominated as Journalist of the Year
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Daily News’ very own David Day has been nominated for Journalist of the Year in the 2026 Best of Mississippi Awards.
The Best of Mississippi Awards is one of the state’s most prestigious honors, celebrating the best small to mid-sized businesses, business visionaries, and community leaders. With numerous categories, it is the largest business recognition program in Mississippi.
Winners are featured in the Best of Mississippi Magazine. Winning a category earns honorees Statewide and national recognition as a top small business in the industry, enhanced credibility and brand recognition. Winning a Best of Mississippi Award validates business excellence.
The brainchild Dr. Kathy Amos, Founder/CEO of Business Empowered International-Mississippi Chamber of Commerce, The Best of Mississippi Awards was created to recognize and celebrate distinguished individuals and businesses statewide. While Dr. Amos initially focused on honoring women via the Empowering Progressive Women’s Association, her passion for recognition expanded to encompass both genders.
Since its inception, The Best of Mississippi Awards has received over 5,000 nominations in various categories. The most recent award ceremony took place on October 7, 2023, at The Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, MS, marking yet another significant milestone in its journey.
The awards will be presented Saturday, April 25, 2026.
