Celebrate Pi Day at the airport
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Mark your calendars and head to the Vicksburg- Tallulah Regional Airport on Saturday, March 14, to celebrate Pi Day.
Celebrate the day and support local families by attending a car show, plane rides, NASA ACCP STEM with other family fun activities, and a food pantry drive. The Vicksburg–Tallulah Regional Airport, in partnership with the Southern Heritage Air Foundation, NASA, and NASA Astro Camp Community Partners, will host a full‑day Pi Day Celebration featuring aviation experiences, NASA STEM activities, vintage vehicles, and a community food‑drive initiative. The event includes a vintage car show, Llrge‑scale R/C Aircraft demonstrations, aircraft static displays, plane rides for purchase, flight simulators, museum tours, food trucks, face painting, and a dedicated NASA STEM Activity Zone with hands‑on learning and prizes. Attendees will also learn how the Pi Symbol played a role during WWII.
The event will be held Saturday, March 14, beginning at 9 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Plane rides will be available
from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. R/C Demonstrations will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Vicksburg–Tallulah Regional Airport is located at Exit 182 Mound, La., off
of I-20 just across the Mississippi River Bridge from Vicksburg, Miss.
Families, students, educators, aviation enthusiasts, STEM learners, community groups, and media outlets covering education, aerospace, local events, and community service are encouraged to attend the event.
ADMISSION:
* $10 Adults
* $5 Ages 6–12
* Children 5 & under FREE
* $10 Car Show Registration Fee
Attendees are encouraged to bring non‑perishable food items to support the Vicksburg & Tallulah food pantries. Each individual who donates receives $1 off of their individual admission. Commonly needed items include canned proteins,
pasta, rice, beans, vegetables, soups, sauces, instant potatoes, crackers, mac & cheese, cornbread mix, ramen, jelly, peanut butter, and sugar.
