USACE Vicksburg District’s Arkabutla Lake accepting applications for Physically Challenged Hunt

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District announces dates for the 37th annual Arkabutla Lake Physically Challenged Deer Hunt in December 2026.
Applicants will be limited to persons that are quadriplegic, paraplegic, ambulatory with the use of leg braces or crutches, or other permanent physical limitations.
There will be two hunts, each lasting three days on Dec. 4-6 and 11-13, 2026. Applications are available at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office or online athttps://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Arkabutla-Lake/. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Applicants will be notified during the second week of November if they are selected.
