Help Misty and Ashley get to Special Olympics
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The community is invited to help support two incredible students from Jacob’s Ladder as they prepare to compete in the Special Olympics USA Games this June in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event will take place June 19–26, and the local athletes are excited to represent our area.
Misty will be competing in swimming, and Ashley will be participating in cornhole. Their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm make this a meaningful opportunity, and Warren County is proud to cheer them on.
The cost is $500 per athlete, but the total cost for Area 10 is $12,000. Thanks to the efforts of Sandy Hearn, $6,000 has already been raised, and the group is halfway to the goal. Additional support from the local business community will help ensure these athletes can participate in this unforgettable experience.
If you would like to contribute, checks can be made payable to:
Special Olympics Area 10; dropped off at Jacob’s Ladder, inside the YMCA (267 YMCA Place)
The support helps cover travel, lodging, meals, and event participation for these athletes. Every contribution—large or small—makes a difference.
Let’s come together and show Misty and Ashley that the Vicksburg community is behind them!
