Help stamp out hunger
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Mark your calendars and plan to participate in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 9 — the largest one-day food drive in the United States. This annual effort helps restock local food banks and fight hunger right here in our community.
Organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers in partnership with the United States Postal Service and United Way Worldwide, this initiative makes it easy for everyone to give back.
How It Works:
📬 Leave non-perishable food items by your mailbox
📦 Your mail carrier will collect donations along their route
🤝 Food is delivered to local food banks and pantries in our area
Why It Matters:
• Food banks often face shortages, especially heading into summer
• Donations help provide meals for families, children, and seniors
• It’s a simple and accessible way to make a meaningful impact
Start setting aside non-perishable items now and help make a difference on May 9.
Together, we can help ensure our neighbors have the food they need.
